  Telephone orders may be placed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by dialing 1-800-999-2703.When placing an order on voice mail after hours, be certain to use your Customer Number (if you have one, it starts with "C0", and is located above your name on mailing label), as well as your name and telephone number, to insure proper shipping and billing. If we have complete information, your order will be processed the next business day. Telephone confirmation of your order is by request only.

Shipping

Orders within the continental U.S. are shipped by either United Parcel Service (UPS) Ground or by United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail, whichever is least expensive. Please include a street address for UPS delivery (UPS will not deliver to a P.O. Box).

Orders are normally shipped within one business day. Shipping time in transit varies according to your location.

How shipping charges are calculated:

• Orders placed by telephone, email or postal mail: We bill you for whatever the shipper's charge to us is, plus $1.00 handling per envelope shipped by USPS flat-rate Priority Mail, or $1.50 handling per package shipped by United Parcel Service.

• Orders placed using "Add to Cart" buttons on our website: Because these orders are prepaid at the time you place the order, before we package and weigh them, shipping is charged as a percentage of the total order amount:
  • From $.01 to $9.99 = 50%
  • From $10.00 to $19.99 = 40%
  • From $20.00 to $29.99 = 25%
  • From $30.00 to $89.99 = 17%
  • From $90.00 and up = $10%

If you prefer to pay the actual shipping charge, rather than a charge based on a percentage of your order amount, please place your order by telephone, email or postal mail.

If shipping time is an issue, tell us when you would like to have your materials arrive; we will let you know the least expensive way to send them. If you place your order at least two weeks in advance, you will be certain to receive the studies on time at the least possible cost. If you place your order through the Internet Shopping Cart, notify us of the Date of Need using the "Message to Seller" field at the bottom of the "Review Your Payment" window. Please include a telephone number. If rushed shipping will be necessary, we will contact you about any additional shipping charges.

To keep your shipping costs down, if you're not certain how many will be joining your class, you can order in one of several different ways.

Order a few more than you think you will need. The 10% restocking fee for returned unused studies is generally less than expensive "rush" shipments for additional materials.

Order what you know you'll need in time for us to ship them UPS Ground. If you have to order additional studies, it will be less expensive to send a few "rush" than to send your entire shipment rush.

If you wait until the last moment you may find it is less expensive to have us ship only the first lessons of a looseleaf study "rush" and the remaining looseleaf lessons UPS ground.

If you're not certain, ask us. We are here to assist you and are familiar with the various methods of shipping. We'll be pleased to help you.

Billing and Payment

7.25% sales tax will be charged on all orders shipped to California.

Internet Shopping Cart orders must be paid by credit card or Paypal account.

Orders placed by phone, email, fax or postal mail:

You may choose to have the order billed to you: An invoice (payable within 30 days) will be sent for each order. Longer spiral-bound studies are eligible for Extended Payment terms. Monthly statements will be mailed.

You may pay for your order in advance by including a check with your postal mail order.

You may charge the order to Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express.

Extended Payment Terms

Joy of Living offers an extended payment option for all spiral-bound courses over seven lessons long, with the following payment schedules:

Spiral bound studies between 8-14 lessons in length

• first half due in 30 days
• second half due in 90 days

Spiral bound studies between 15-21 lessons in length

• one-third due in 30 days
• another one-third due in 90 days
• final one-third due in 150 days

Spiral bound studies over 21 lessons in length

• one-fourth due in 30 days
• another one-fourth due in 90 days
• another one-fourth due in 150 days
• final one-fourth due in 210 days

Extended payment terms are not available for Internet Shopping Cart orders.

For all other order methods, extended payment terms are not given automatically, so be sure to ask when you place your order if you wish to take advantage of this offer.

Customers Outside the U.S.

The Internet Shopping Cart calculates freight only on orders shipping to an address within the USA. If you place an order to be shipped outside the USA, the freight amount will be $.00. We will contact you with the actual freight charges that must be paid before the order can be shipped.

If you place your order by another method (phone, fax, email or postal mail), we encourage customers outside the U.S. to pay for their order by credit card to avoid the collection fee charged by our bank on each check or money order drawn on a non-U.S. bank. Or you may pay by an International Money Order or Cashier's Check, which is drawn on a U.S. bank, usually in New York.

When the package arrives at your local post office, there may be taxes, customs charges, or other fees due and payable to the postal service before your package is released to you.

Duplicating Materials

All Joy of Living materials are copyrighted and may not be reproduced by photocopying or digital duplication without the specific permission of the Joy of Living office.

We are a nonprofit ministry whose primary source of funds is through the sale of Bible study materials. Without this resource we would be unable to continue making studies available.

Returning Unused Materials

All unused materials in good condition (*see Restrictions below) may be returned for credit. A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the credit for all returned materials.

When returning materials please note the following:

A copy of the itemized invoice (or packing slip) for the material being returned must be enclosed in each package to receive credit. All materials returned without a copy of the original invoice or packing slip will be credited at a reduced rate. All credits issued in this manner are final and will not be increased if a copy of the invoice is received at a later date.

If you ship your package by UPS it is automatically insured up to $100. Be sure to purchase additional insurance if the value of the items being returned is over $100. If shipping by the US Postal Service, you will need to purchase insurance for the value of the entire shipment to guarantee reimbursement if your package is lost or damaged.

When you package your returns, use a sturdy box in good condition so it will hold up during the shipping process (re-use of the box you received your order in may not be advisable if it is in poor condition). Use plenty of filler around returned materials to keep them from shifting in transit. Boxes may be tossed around, and if item corners are bent we will not be able to credit you for the returned items.

Sort loose-leaf lessons by course and by lesson number. Returned loose-leaf lessons which are not sorted properly will be charged an additional 10% sorting charge.

Don't use newspaper as package filler unless you first line the returned materials with clean paper or plastic. Materials smudged with newsprint ink are not acceptable for credit. Do not use paper clips or rubber bands on any items that you may eventually return. Do not fold loose-leaf lessons or write on them, even in pencil.

• Selected Psalms - no returns

• Luke loose-leaf - returns accepted until 12/31/08
• Gospel of John, 1-3 John & Jude loose-leaf - no returns
• 1 Corinthians loose-leaf - no returns
• 2 Corinthians loose-leaf - no returns
• Hall of Faith loose-leaf - no returns
• Multi-Book Study loose-leaf - returns accepted until 12/31/08

The following items may not be returned:

• Digital Bible Studies
• Guidelines For Preparing A Lecture Audio CD
• Adding Dramatic Elements To Your Teaching Audio CD
• Caring and Sharing in Small Groups Audio Seminar on CD

Preschool Materials and Youth Studies may be returned within 30 days if unused and in good condition. Please contact us in advance for permission.

Audio Lecture Series Rentals: Rental fee will be credited only if returned within 30 days (please contact us in advance for permission if you are requesting a credit of the rental fee). The charge for missing CDs is $3.00 each.

Audio Lecture Series Purchases: Full price will be credited only if set is unused and returned within 30 days (please contact us in advance for permission). Returns after 30 days will be credited the difference between purchase and rental prices. The charge for missing CDs is $3.00 each.

Spiral-bound Studies: Books with damaged covers—even a small amount of damage—cannot be resold, so we are unable to issue credit for them.
